Sisters Three
Nancy
MC
Aki
Nancy, MC, and Aki.
My dad took in a pregnant stray cat, whom we named Donna. She gave us four beautiful kittens, the boy we found a home for, and kept the three sisters.
Nancy is our last living cat. She's doing wonderful at almost 18 years old. She was the shy one of the bunch, but in the last few years has become more outwardly loving.
Aki was my best friend. Some of my first memories of her are of me at around 2 years old dragging around a piece of straw outside and the little kitten chasing me. We grew up together, through thick and thin. A few weeks ago, we had to put her down because of aggressive cancer. Cancer has an awkward spot in my heart. I hope someday to inspire those suffering from it and contribute (likely monetarily) to research to fight it.
MC was my dad's cat. We had to put her down a couple years ago. She used to sleep on the back of the couch and let out long purrs as she would fall asleep. I miss her dearly.
I grew up with seven cats. I will definitely own cats in my lifetime when I have more money to support them.
I don't know if another cat will look at me quite the same way Aki did, though. I'll never forget her loving gaze.
Thank you for the memories, girls.
